What We Do

TEAMM teaches miscarriage management service integration through a multi-faceted and systems approach: didactic and hands-on learning for the entire team of providers and support staff involved in patient care.

To do this, we work with champions at sites to:

  • Help them prepare for practice change by assisting with protocol development, equipment procurement, billing and coding, and patient flow

  • Give a series of on-site trainings and facilitated meetings that includes participation from the entire healthcare team. More information about trainings is available here.

  • Offer follow-up technical assistance tailored to a site’s specific needs in order to make implementation of services a reality

Our approach is interdisciplinary and interdepartmental, involving all of those who play a role in caring for pregnant patients across the institution. Participants in our trainings and in the practice change process include:

  • Physicians and advanced practice clinician providers

  • Nurses, medical assistants, social workers, clinic managers, administrators, health educators, and front desk staff

In addition to working with clinical sites, TEAMM offers an annual training in the fall open to all. The half-day workshop takes place on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, Washington. More information is available here.
